An-Najah News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced that 75 deaths have been recorded, and 1383 members of our communities in various countries of the world have been infected by the Corona virus.
The ministry’s report stated today, Tuesday, that it was part of the Minister of Foreign Affairs’s efforts, Riyad Al-Maliki, to mobilize international support for the efforts of the State of Palestine in facing the Corona pandemic, while receiving the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Francisco Mauro, today, from whom he received the Brazilian government’s decision to provide financial support to Palestine in the following manner: 75 thousand dollars for the country’s treasury to purchase medical equipment, testing samples and other necessary supplies to reduce the virus outbreak, in addition to an additional 75,000 USD to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, to help the most affected Palestinian refugees during this pandemic.
It is scheduled that the specialized work team in the ministry in coordination with the Brazilian government and the Palestinian Ministry of Health to immediately take the necessary measures to implement this support within the next few days and hand it over to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The Palestinian Embassy in Cairo indicated that the Egyptian authorities opened the Rafah crossing starting from this morning until next Thursday and it is expected that 1500 citizens and students will be able to enter the Gaza Strip.
The task force concerned with following up the conditions of the community in the United States of America stated that no infections or death was recorded in the ranks of the community for this day, and 4 cases of recovery from the infected cases were recorded.
The embassy reported the registration of the first two cases of the virus among the Palestinians in Bangladesh for two military students, as they were isolated from the rest of the students in order to preserve public safety.
In Turkey, the Palestinian Embassy follows up the conditions of the community, students, refugees and communicates with them through the Emergency Committee to provide all possible services to check on their health, safety and living and medical conditions, especially in the holy month of Ramadan, and also continues to monitor the health conditions of people who got infected with coronavirus.
The total number of infections reached 16 cases, the last of which was a Palestinian youth working in a factory in Istanbul and his condition is stable and he was treated in the hospital while he is in the house quarantine now, including two cases that are undergoing treatment and their condition is stable, and 13 recovered
Moreover, the Palestinian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates reported that a new death was recorded today among the community of citizen Mahmoud Mahmoud Darwish Dhiab (46 years) due to the Corona virus, bringing the number of deaths among the community in the UAE to 6, and the number of infections remains 23 whose condition was stable, and 6 cases were recovered.
The embassy and the emergency committee are constantly monitoring the conditions of the community, students and the people who couldn’t come back to Palestine to check on their health and safety and provide any assistance to those in need, and in that the embassy will distribute 650 food parcels to the needy families with a generous donation from institutions, shops and across the embassy.
The embassy is also following up the shipment of medical donations made by NAFFCO to our people in Lebanon and Syria, and is communicating with the Emirati Charitable Authority to check on the progress of the donation campaign supervised by the authority to purchase 20 respirators for the Ministry of Health, which has amounted to more than 100,000 USD.
The embassy has also contacted Palestinians in Ukraine, Vietnam, Chili, and Belgium and they confirmed that no new cases have been recorded there.
