An-Najah News - The Journalists Syndicate in Egypt announced the death of the first journalist who was infected with the Corona virus at Hemayat Imbaba Hospital, after great attempts to help him recover from the disease.
Ayman Abdul Majeed, a member of the Press Syndicate Council, Chairman of the Social and Health Care Committees, said that “the late colleague felt the symptoms of corona infection, so he was being treated in Hemayat Imbaba Hospital,” according to Russia Today.
Abdul Majeed indicated that during the period of treatment at Hemayat Imbaba Hospital, three tests were conducted, the first and the second did not show negative or positive results, and the third one was positive which means he has the virus, therefore he was transferred to Agouza Hospital, where he was placed on a respirator.
“During the past week, I contacted the official authorities to conduct tests for his family and unfortunately, the tests were positive for three of his four children,” Abdul Majeed continued.
Abdul Majeed stressed that the Health and Social Care Committee is communicating in an instant manner to follow up on the children’s case and support his family, pointing out that the late is the only positive case that has emerged among journalists, and the committee will announce its third statement, on what was done with cases they may think may have the virus.
