An-Najah News - Nablus - The head of the Detainees and ex-Detainees Affairs Commission, Qadri Abu Baker, today, Thursday, warned against the continuation of the arbitrary management of the occupation prisons procedures towards the prisoners during the holy month of Ramadan, and increasing their suffering due to the harsh conditions of their detention.
He said in the commission’s statement, today, Thursday, “On the eve of the blessed month, 5,000 Palestinian prisoners remain inside the occupation prisons, including many women and the elderly, and hundreds of patients and children, who will suffer double suffering, along with their families.”
“The Israelis intend to manipulate the dates of serving breakfast meals, especially in the detention and investigation centers, and to provide those meals in many times with very poor quantities and qualities. It also puts obstacles in front of the freedom to practice religious rituals and recite the Qur’an in a public voice and tarawih prayers, and this is contrary to what the Geneva Convention stipulated; “The detaining power shall place at the disposal of the detainees, whatever their beliefs, the appropriate places for their religious rites.”
In the same context, Abu Bakr presented, on the occasion of the holy month of the brave and glorious female detainees, the warmest regards for their patience and legendary steadfastness, wishing them a near and urgent release, and that the next year will come, and the prisoners will be liberated.
