An-Najah News - Nablus - Dr. Fawzi Abu Khalil, associate professor at the University of Miami and a consultant neurosurgeon confirmed that the most important factor in the rapid spread of corona virus in the United States of America is the time factor, as there was a delay in taking preventive measures by the US government in addition to the political factor which is the lack of centralization in crisis management.

With regard to the period of time that we may need to develop the vaccine, he said: “The vaccine is given to those without the disease as protection from infection, and the drug is given to the infected person to reduce the symptoms and to not let the virus spread widely, and there are approximately 330 global studies on vaccines and drugs and until the moment there is no result, and the finding of an effective vaccine process may take one to two years, and the same applies to the drugs.

Up to this point, there is no international cooperation to develop a drug or vaccine, and everyone works separately because of the prevailing system based on material benefit, so all companies compete to earn money.

Abu Khalil stressed the need to deal with the issue as it was dealt with from the beginning, and treat every person as if they are infected, and keep on applying social distancing and sterilization, wearing masks, paws, cleanliness and strengthening the immune system through vitamins and drinking juices.
