An-Najah News - Nablus - A story mixed with joy and sadness at the same time, detailing a long-awaited meeting for 18 years, at a time when the world lives in a quarantine imposed due to the outbreak of corona virus.
The ex-detainee Ismail Abu Aishah Al-Hurriya got his freedom after 18 years spent in the occupation prisons since 2002.
The Governor of Nablus Governorate Ibrahim Ramadan said: “Freedom begins with the restriction. The prison and its restrictions are the main link in our going towards freedom, a path that every Palestinian must follow, and we must unite against our one enemy, a brute occupier, and our goal is one, freedom.”
The ex-prisoner Abu Aisha was put in 14-day quarantine after the welcoming gathering ended. In the few moments in which the ex-prisoner was able to express himself, he said: “Freedom is the most valuable asset we have, and my dear brothers are still in captivity, they are also my family who shared with me many years of my life.”
“The prisoners are facing a difficult and deliberate medical neglect, there are neither clinics nor medical care, and there are great fears of the virus spreading among them,” he said, and he appealed to all parties concerned to intervene urgently to support them.
